Maria's restaurant is on the left and Griffin's pub on the right. |
McGarveys is on the left, Maria's on the right. |

The water line should be about 140 yards away and about 4 feet belwo the street level. |
I was staying about 10 yards above the high water line. Great location for a drunken sailor ony a short stagger
from all the downtown bars.
McGarveys stayed open until last call on Thursday night, and was open again by 1800 on Friday. Of course the kitchen
closed at 1600 on Thursday. They did a great job of sandbagging, using plastic sheeting under the sand bags.
The place looked fine Friday night.
This tree fell on McGarvey's kitchen, no damage. |

|
Tight fit on the crane, should be 10' boom to wires ..... |

Now for the Yard I managed to get inside while it was still mostly locked down around 1300 on Friday. Most of the
big bits had already been cleaned up at least those above water. Of course they were still disinfecting King Hall (the
cafeteria); Nimitz(library) and the Chauvent/Michelson/Rickover complex were still being pumped out after 1300
on Sunday. Memorial hall which lies between 7th and 8th Wings of Bancroft Hall suffered extensive
water damage. (I lived in 8th Wing all 4 years at the Academy).
Loking out towards the cemetary. |
